”Pep”: "MFF borde satsa kortsiktigt”

Fotboll.

Tack!

Chris: If you had to recommend 5 things to see in Barcelona. What would you recommend?
Josep Clotet Ruiz: Hi Chris! I recommend you: a MODERNISME TOUR: Sagrada Familia, Parc Güell, La Pedrera, etc; a tapas tour in Gracia, a nice walk in the old town (Gotic) and a dinner in la Barceloneta (good fresh fish). Enjoy it!!!!!

Samuel: HI pep, are you gonna try to get players from Espanyol now?
Josep Clotet Ruiz: Hi Samuel! First I will take a deep look at the players we have here to understand what do we exactly need and then I will see. Don't know yet!

Linus: Would you really like to come to Malmö again as headcoach? Or do you want to go back to Spain after your trip to Halmstad?
Josep Clotet Ruiz: Hej Linus! Right now I'm only thinking in performing and helping HBK and I am not thinking at all about Spain. I love Sweden and I have a lot to learn here, so i will not mind about working here in sweden for a while. It's a lovely country!!

guillermo:

hello Pep, congratulations for winning with malmo last league, what do you think about the options of malmo in the champions league

Josep Clotet Ruiz:

Good night Guillermo! Grattis for the gold too! This is something we all did, it would have been impossible without the supporters. I think about the CL that MFF should focus on really short term results, fighting game x game and take them really seriously and never think about the group stage until the time comes. Although I think even if you are a big club you will always need a bit of luck on that games. I wish that luck to MFF!

Johan: Roland has declared to the media that this is probably his last season in MFF because he would like to try coaching in England again. Didn’t you see it as a good chance for you to stay as ass.coach one more year and then have a great chance to become the head coach of MFF after next season?
Josep Clotet Ruiz: Hej Johan! All my life I've been a head coach and only this year I've been assistant. So I'm happy all went well but inside of me I felt attracted to the idea to help HBK to become as better as I could. It was very difficult decision but in the end I decided to do what I have always done (coaching). I know i will have to work harder than ever and it will be very difficult but I hope you understand my decission. It's a way as well to prove myself in a new country.

MFF: It’s sad to hear that you are leaving MFF. We’ll miss you...
Josep Clotet Ruiz: As you can imagine it was not easy but at the same time i'm proud of having my small piece in the MFF history. I coach HBK now thanks to my work in MFF. But of course I will miss the club and city too after this great year!

Chris: What do you think of Cornella El Prat, when where you there last?
Josep Clotet Ruiz: I think Cornellà-El Prat means a lot because it's owned by the club (not as Montjuïc). It's a terryfic stadium designed with the idea of putting a lot of pressure over the opposing team cuz there's a lot of people and really close to the grass. It's the revival of Sarrià

Supportern: Hello! Who do you see as the bigest talents in Malmoe? And who has the best potential to make a succes in for example Spain or Portugal
Josep Clotet Ruiz: Hej! It's really hard for me to say because I love them all!!! I think all young players from MFF who play in the national teams have really great potential, but we must think that they are still learning, so it's better to control the pressure over them.

Oscar: Tell me about the education you had in Catalunya. Whats the name of the school? Can everyone apply for it? Thanks for what you did for Malmö!
Josep Clotet Ruiz: Everyone can apply. When I was the director of the coaches school we had more than 12 schools all around Catalunya with more than 1000 coaches studying a year. There came people even from Japan! But the classes are in catalan, it's the only problem. The education consists in three theorical years with 3/4 classes a week and two practical years. After all you have the UEFA PRO license.

Peter: How long is your contract with HBK?
Josep Clotet Ruiz: Two seasons.

Neri: who is the best fotball player, according to you?
Josep Clotet Ruiz: Messi

Fracken: Hi Pep, What's your favourite restaurant in Malmö? Good luck with Halmstad!
Josep Clotet Ruiz: I have been a lot having lunch at Hipp with Jonnie Fedel but I tried a lot of restaurants!! Malmö is great for this!

Kvast: Welcome to HBK, Pep! Do you have any coach or team as a model?
Josep Clotet Ruiz: I like Pep Guardiola for what it means for my country and his really catalan style. He is from a small town not far from mine in the centre of Catalonia where people takes it easy, don't talk too much and work a lot. For me he has theese values and as a coach, this is something always good. But I like others too. You learn from everyone. Roland has been really good too, I've been really happy to assist him

moderator:

The chat is open for another five minutes. All questions won't be answered, but keep them coming!

Malmöö: Won't it be difficult to get Halmstad to play the way MFF did when the players available to you now are not at all at the same high level?
Josep Clotet Ruiz: I think MFF will play MFF style and HBK will play HBK style. Because each team has his own charachteristics and reasons. But the thing is to do it with quality, whatever you do and to let people enjoy it

moderator:

We've got a lot of questions unanswered and Josep Clotet Ruiz wants to chat more, we'll stay open until 19.00. Thanks everybody!

Chris: Is Espanyol supposed to be 'the people's team' in Barcelona? Did you support Espanyol as a child? Do you think Espanyol will maintain their standing in Liga BBVA? Did you know Danni Jarque personally, if so how, describe him and why he means so much for Espanyol?
Josep Clotet Ruiz: As a child I supported Barsa cuz my father is a member and have two seats with a friend of his. I saw a lot of football there and thanks to this I apreciate a lot the good fotball they believe on. But later I started to enjoy as well with Espanyol. So I support both, because they are both from my country, Catalunya. Espanyol needs a lot of things to mantain his race, luck, people help at home, hard job, but everytime I see them I enjoy more cuz I coached eight of their players now and I'm proud of them. Jarque means a lot because he has been in the club from the bottom to the top and this is not easy in a big club like espanyol. He will always be in the heart of everyone. I knew him personally and his loss was really difficult. I was in a camp in Finland with the B team when it happened and everyone started to cry when I gave the news. It was scary

Oscar: Do you see Catalunya as a nation of its own? Visca Catalunya!
Josep Clotet Ruiz: Well, according to the definition of a nation Catalunya is in fact, a nation.

Ryan: Will you be involved in the youth teams in Halmstads BK?
Josep Clotet Ruiz: I will serve the club as much as I can and I know. The club is a united thing and we will work from the bottom to the top.

Kerstin:

What's most important for kids of 9-10 years? To play in a team where there members are as equal as possible in their skills, or to play with team members that are doing there best but when nothing works, nor for them or the team. "It's most important to have fun" is a common mindset in Sweden. Thx!

Josep Clotet Ruiz:

I think for their own improvement they should be in a team as equal as possible in the skills. It doesn't matter the age. For example, like in the school. If a kid is really smart and intelligent and has enough level to be two years ahead he should be there. Football is the same.

Marcus: Hola Pep! Congratulations and thank you for helping this city win the league. What is your aim as a manager and what do you think of overall potentiality in swedish football? Can we in club and national-cup football win medals again if we dare change the way we play? Good luck in Halmstad!
Josep Clotet Ruiz: Hola Marcus! Thank you very much for your wishes. I think Sweden has great potential and the more you believe on it the more success you will get. At the same time you have to believe in what you do and learn from other countries but never try to copy. Just learn and adapt your own thing. And strongly believe on it.

Alltid på ståplats: Okay, you have changed team now. But what areas do you think that MFF need to improve even more in? And what is your goal with Halmstad next year? And who will be the topteams?
Josep Clotet Ruiz: Hello! I can not say who will be the top teams, it's difficult yet. MFF should keep the focus and always think that the season is a new one so forget everything and fight again. But Rolle will do this perfectly

Olle: What is your best advise to young football players?
Josep Clotet Ruiz: To always be focused and taking it really serious. They should finnish every training being a better player. This you can not do it if you are not concentrated and with clear goals.

Aladdin: how do you feel about this? are you sad or are you happy? i mean, it's a big opportunity.
Josep Clotet Ruiz: I'm excited to perform and being part of something nice. It's a nice opportunity to grow as a coach. I'm really looking forward to start training!

Olle: What is your first impression of Halmstad BK?
Josep Clotet Ruiz:

Hej Olle! Really positive impression. The club is hungry to work hard and everyone gaved me a really warm welcome. I'm proud.

Alex: Which are the main differences how you want Halmstad to play, compared to the ideas of Lasse Jacobsson?
Josep Clotet Ruiz: It's too soon to say. I'm doing a deep analysis on the work the team did this year and learning about the players. I will take a lot of Lasse's ideas because he is a good coach and is doing a good work for the club. Then I will think the whole christmas about my feelings and ideas. I want to create an own Halmstad style where everyone would be proud. But it will be difficult and a hard hard job

Bollklubben: How high in the league table do you think HBK can finish next year?
Josep Clotet Ruiz: I can not say. I will work to take the maximum potential from the team but it's not an easy job, it takes time, understanding, knowledge and hard dedication. These are my goals

Erik: When the day comes you will return to Spain. What in the swedish mentality will you bring with you? And do you think something in the "swedish way" of playing football will be applicable in Spain? Thanks for your time here and good luck
Josep Clotet Ruiz: I'm already mixing a lot both mentalities. The rythm of the playing here is great and I found a lot of positive things that I will bring like the winger mentality that is a little bit different and some details in the defense game and transitional pieces.

Klas: Do you feel that Halmstad BK is 100% supporting your fotball philosophy? HBK did first try to get Pelle Olsson (Gefle) as head coach and his way of fotball and your way is very different...
Josep Clotet Ruiz: I want to find our own HBK way. I always adapt to the club I work, so I think we will create our own way

Bosse L: What is your opinion, should Sweden change to play autumn-spring to get closer to Europe? And is it good with a league were a lot of team can win, or should it be like in Spain: just a few teams that are really at the top and can make it in Europe?
Josep Clotet Ruiz: I like it like here. And I think we can not change the format of the league. The weather is the weather and for me football has to be played in grass (I'm too romantic on this!)

Halmstad: I'm wondering if you know a promising player in Espanyol who maybe would like to go on a season/ half a season long loan to Halmstad. Maybe you have some interesting names? And at last I'm wondering if you know what the most of the Spanish people are thinking of Sweden as a football-nation.
Josep Clotet Ruiz: This is something I didn't thought yet. I'm taking my time to study the team and then we can make better decisions. In Spain the Sweden national team is really respected. You have a really strong team!!

moderator:

The chat will close any minute now. We thank you so much for this opportunity and great questions. Quite a few questions are left unanswered but it's impossible to leave time for all. Thank you!

Anders: Very sorry to hear you're leaving Malmö, but I still want to thank you for bringing in the european play to our club... Was it only a money issue that made you leave?
Josep Clotet Ruiz: No! It was the sports project they offered me here. I believe on what they want to do and it was not easy to leave MFF.

Kvast: Do you speak some swedish? I dont think Tomas Zwigzdauskas english is the very best. :-)
Josep Clotet Ruiz: We will manage for sure!! :-)

Mr Vain:

Hi Pep! Welcome to Halmstad. You are already a great injection for Halmstad Fans. We really look forward to coming season. Have you thought about what kind of staff you will have around you in HBK? Assistant trainer, physiotherapist etc...

Josep Clotet Ruiz:

Hej Mr Vain! We are discussing this things these days so we will see. But I think that HBK has great professionals in the club. I'm proud of being part of them. And thank you very much for your warm welcome. And remember we can not walk this alone! We need you.

Josep Clotet Ruiz: Thank you very much for your questions and comments. It's been so nice to share this time with you. I would like to work a little bit more so understand me and please, have a nice evening! Adéu!
